Although our primary focus is to help our customers grow and succeed, we believe that we also have a responsibility to SERVICE-TRUST-PARTNER within our community. Through our American Gives Back program, we commit to quarterly service projects that benefit local organizations like Royal Family Kids Camp, Palatine Township Outreach programs, Feed My Starving Children, and Phil’s Friends.

American Door and Dock is proud to be a family-owned and operated business. In 1972, Larry Hooker, Sr. founded American Overhead Door out of his mother’s garage with a focus on outstanding service and a passion for getting the job done right the first time. In the 1980s, Larry’s children, Larry Jr. and Kelly joined the American team. Over the years, numerous extended family members have contributed to American’s success by working as service techs, salesmen, dispatchers, and purchasing agents. In 2002, American’s future was secured as the company was acquired by Larry Hooker, Jr. He changed the name to American Door and Dock in 2006 to better represent the addition of comprehensive dock services. In 2019, under the implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System, Larry Jr and Kelly secured an even brighter future for American. From that date forward, the brother and sister team has led the company together with Larry as visionary and Kelly as integrator. In 2021, the company moved into a third generation when Larry Tres Hooker came on board to support the family business.
