There are thousands of aging (roughly 25 years or older) warehouses, manufacturing plants, and other commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Greater Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. These facilities can present significant challenges when they are acquired by a new company, redeployed, or when their use evolves based on operational changes and increased volumes of activity.

Without efficient seal and shelter solutions in place, dock operations are at risk for wind and rain penetration, energy loss, invasive insects and rodents, unsafe loading and unloading conditions, and damage to products and equipment. High performing dock seals and shelters are especially important in regulated operations such as food and pharmaceuticals where preventing environmental threats is mission critical.

Any service vendor can send a guy out in a truck to try to fix a problem. But how many service providers can really leave an operation better than it was before the problem even occurred? This is what sets American Door and Dock apart. We are a service organization from the ground up. At the heart of our organization is a Service Department that leads the way in service delivery and customer care.

The risks and unknowns inherent in dock area operations make it prudent to develop and implement (or enhance) your dock safety policy as well as related equipment improvements. Dock safety policies should be revisited periodically and updated to reflect operational changes, growth, and new & better ways of doing things. Truck restraints should be an integral part of any organized dock safety program.
